CrossMyPart is a sourcing tool for hardware engineers and procurement teams. It indexes electronic components from public catalogues and the CrossMyPart catalogue, and returns equivalent-part suggestions with an attribute-level match score.

What the tool does
A user enters a manufacturer part number. CrossMyPart resolves the query in two layers, cache-first: internal catalogue, then our verified supplier network. The first cache miss becomes the next cache hit.
For each query we return three candidates: the exact part if found, the closest Asian alternative, and the CrossMyPart-catalogue cross when one exists. Each non-exact candidate carries a transparent match score broken down by attribute, so the engineer can decide whether the substitution is acceptable.
Confirmed orders fire a purchase order into Odoo automatically and a confirmation email to the customer. Live pricing and stock are reconfirmed at checkout to catch supplier drift before charging.
How we approach the problem
Transparent scoring
Match scores are produced from weighted, named attributes. The breakdown is shown alongside every score so users can see which attributes contributed and which did not.
Reconfirmed pricing
Quoted prices are indicative. The unit price and stock for every line are re-checked at the point of checkout and any drift is surfaced before the order is placed.
Engineer-owned decisions
The tool surfaces candidates with the data needed to evaluate them — pinout, package, voltage, temperature range, lifecycle. Substitution decisions remain with the engineer.
