Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about how CrossMyPart matches parts, sources pricing, and integrates with your stack.

How matching works

How does CrossMyPart find equivalent parts?

Every part lives in a 'family' (e.g. ARM Cortex-M MCU, Audio Amplifier). Each family has Hard attributes (must match — package, core, voltage) and Soft attributes (closer is better — clock speed, temp range). We score every candidate against those weighted attributes and return the top match per category.

What's the difference between Option A, B, and C?

Option A is the exact part you searched for. Option B is the best Asian alternative (typically GigaDevice, MindMotion, WCH, etc.). Option C is the CrossMyPart-catalogue cross — a part we already stock and can ship to you in one PO. All three include a transparent match score.

Why is the match score sometimes 100%? Is the part really identical?

A 100% score means every Hard and Soft attribute we track lined up. It does NOT guarantee drop-in compatibility — pinout, firmware, peripheral nuances, and lifecycle are still your call. Every result is a candidate for your evaluation.

What about parts CrossMyPart hasn't seen before?

We fall back to our verified supplier network for first-time lookups. Successful fetches are persisted to our catalogue so the next user gets a cached response in under 5ms.

Pricing & sourcing

Is the price you show the price I'll pay?

Indicative, not firm. Live unit price and stock are re-checked with the supplier at checkout. If anything moves more than 1%, we flag it before you place the order. No surprises at the dock.

Which suppliers do you connect to?

A curated network of authorized global distributors, plus the CrossMyPart catalogue (our own stock) for Option C. Specific supplier names are kept private for commercial reasons.

Do you support volume discounts and price breaks?

Yes — every Option A card shows full price-break tables from the supplier (qty 1, 10, 100, 1000, etc.). At checkout we apply the right tier based on your line quantity automatically.

BOM uploads

What file formats do you accept?

CSV, XLSX, XLS, and plain TXT. We auto-detect Part Number / MPN, Quantity, and Reference Designator columns even when they have different names.

How long does a BOM analysis take?

Around 8 seconds for 50 lines, 25–35 seconds for 200 lines. The pipeline runs cache-first, so re-uploading the same BOM is almost instant.

Can I save BOMs and revisit them later?

Team and OEM tiers persist BOM history with versioning. Engineer tier keeps the analysis in your session — re-upload to regenerate.

Integrations

Do you integrate with Odoo?

Yes — every completed CrossMyPart order fires a purchase order into your Odoo instance automatically. We map line items, quantities, and pricing per your Odoo config. NetSuite and SAP integrations ship with Team tier.

Is there an API?

Coming Q3. Today the entire BOM flow is browser-based; OEM customers can request early API access via /contact.
